In 2017, we’ve teamed up with Alianza,  The LGBT Community Center, and local

organizations in bringing resources to the eastern part of the Coachella Valley on LGBTQ                                     Resources, which the community had lacked for many years. The ending result was the formation of the East Coachella Valley Pride resource fair & celebration, and so far are entering our fourth year. Since holding the first one in 2017, we’ve seen an increase of support from local members of the community, educational institutions, and government, as well as increase of attendance, and support of organizations.

PEER RESOURCE SUPPORT Since 2015, we’ve provided rapid response resource referrals for any kind of help needed, including access to health care and legal services that are trans-inclusive. For health care, we’ve teamed up with Trans Patient Advocates & Navigators at health institutions such as Eisenhower Health, Borrego Health & Desert AIDS Project. We’ve also worked alongside organizations, police departments, and governments on identifying issues surrounding the community. We’ve also lent support to individuals outside of the Coachella Valley, from across America to different countries.

In late 2018, we were approached by Goldenvoice about a brand new initiative to bring safe spaces to their Coachella & Stagecoach events. The Every One Initiative was created in partnership with Soteria Safe Space organization. Our role was to train festival staff and security on Trans & Queer Issues and Inclusiveness. Coachella resumed in 2022 after the pandemic and we are currently an active participating organization.

At the beginning of 2020, Trans Community Project signed on to represent the Riverside County as part of a new initiative from the California LGBTQ Health and Human Services Network based on the Mental Health needs of our community. This initiative engages LGBTQ people throughout California to develop a mental health equity agenda and offer tools and resources that address these disparities and make our shared goal a reality. We’ve signed on to be a part of this initiative up until its completion in 2023.
